About the school - English Teacher Online - Online School for ESL Student

English Teacher Online is a home for dedicated Filipino teachers who are more than willing to serve our dear students through teaching English online, We desire to help individuals improve more in every context of the English Language while having fun in the learning process. “Go an extra mile” is our mantra. Thus, we do not only enrich our students’ vocabulary but assist them to construct sentences, sentences to paragraphs, and paragraphs to a masterpiece. We encourage our students to lengthen their hi’s and hello’s by expressing their beautiful thoughts and inspire them to have more friendly conversations. Above all, we highly recommend them to help themselves as we exert out best effort to do our part. We would like to emphasize that, willingness and effort, if combine are so powerful, that change is possible, and when there is change, there is better learning.

Our Humble Beginning...

It all started back in the summer of 2006 when I came to visit Cebu City. As a fresh graduate I tried to explore every possible avenue just to land a job. It didn’t take me long then to get one but yes with meager wage. My first job was a customer service representative in a certain mall. I loved my work but I knew deep inside it wasn’t my call. So, every break time, I went out to inquire vacant positions, submit resumes, and catch interviews in so many unfamiliar streets. I lost my way back and forth but it was worth it. I got my second job as a secretary of an English investor in Cebu. It was my first time to work with a native speaker. Everyday wasn’t roses, there were times when my job went really uphill but I took it as a challenge. Fortunately or unfortunately my boss went back to England and I started teaching English to Koreans. It was difficult at first to handle people with language so different with mine. But like any other things, teaching can be learnt.

When my student went back to her home country, her parents wanted her to continue taking English lessons, but it’s costly to take lessons there, so they contacted me. I felt it was risky for me to commit since I didn’t have computer at home. But after weighing everything, I said yes, so we started studying English online. I had to go to internet cafe after work. It was the most inconvenient place to work in. It was noisy and crowded. I continued teaching on the cafe and work really hard in my main job, until I was able to buy my personal computer. I was happy that somehow I was rewarded from my hard work... Looking back, I could see myself trudging everyday, working 7 days a week, and waking up at 5 in the morning and sleeping at midnight. I was head over heels in love with my work, that even if holidays were nothing than less traffic on the road, that even if I miss parties and Christmas carols, that even if others were already asleep and I was still working, I still stand strongly everyday. That is because I had a dream, a dream to have my own school. And chance was so kind to me that once upon a crossroad I met a friend, a computer genius who loves travelling, and works with compassion. With him I realized that there’s always room for improvement. He is my helping hand, my business partner and my Japanese adviser. Because of him “English Teacher Online” came into existence. I, together with him and my compassionate and fun loving teachers will do the fullest of our abilities to serve you better.

Online English Conversation School

From 5:00am to 24:00pm (Japan time), you can take lesson wherever you are, at the comfort of your home or at the convenience of your hotel. We can use "SKYPE" software for free conversation. (Now, 5:00am and 5:30am classes are trial basis)

Filipino Teachers

Philippines is the third largest English-speaking country in the world. Filipinos are trained to write and speak in English all throughout their student's lives. English Teacher Online teachers are competent enough. They are teachers in Philippines' school and others are university professors. Some have their master's degree.

One-to-One lesson

All classes are one-to-one lesson. So teacher can adjust for each level or each domain of issue. Student doesn't need to interfere with other students. And the amount of time spent talikng time is more than group lesson. You can imagine by dividing people's numbers, if you compare one-to-one lesson with 3 group lesson, your conversation time is 3 times higher than group lesson. And you don't need to worry about other's different level.

Not only free talk, we offer grammar or TOEIC also.

Each teacher has each area of concentration. You can use books or web page in the lesson. Plese refer to other pages about materials. You can ask teachers other book or web pages as long as possible. You can ask the office staff for other materials.

Point system. (Not monthly fee)

Expiration date is 60 days. You can buy points any time your points run out or expired. Our system is different from monthly system which needs monthly fee even if there's no lesson. You can book any date on the booking page if your "booking action date" is within the expiration date. If you book the class after the points expired, your cancellation will be limited. (plese refer specific rule in payment page.)

No class number limit per day

Even if you find other school which offers cheaper fee, this limit deminish the chance of lesson. Our school doesn't have a limit of class number per day. If you don't have class few days, you can take these classes after that.

Reasonable fee

We offer less than 1/10 of Japanese commute type English Conversation School. We also offer reasonable price compared to other online school. Aside from "there is a class number limit" or "contract span is too long", we offer very resonable price for students.

Points will be given back if the class is unattended due to brown-out(black out) or connection problem

Philippine's electricity or internet connection is not stable compared to Japan. Especially in typhoon prone areas. If it's noisy or connection is unstable, we will return your points then please book again.

We offer One-to-One lesson from Cebu and Mindanao, Philippines. We use "Skype", free internet phone. (Please check Skype information here) You can install it within few minutes.

You need computer and head-set with mic. Head-set has Earphone Jack style and USB style. USB style is better because its reliability and clear voice. Web-camera is not a must. But if you use it, it would be better.

Each class is 25min. Then class will begin xx:0 and xx:30 for each hour.

• You can check Skype's settings by calling user "echo123". Please speak after the announcement, then it is successful if you can hear your voice.

• Enroll for a trial lesson. Trial lesson will be administered by the manager alone to check your level. Knowing your level is a must so your teacher will be guided as to what lesson he/she will prepare for you.

• Resign is done immediatly. so, please do it after compleate your lesson of all.
